Coastal Crafts: 3 Kinds of Slime for Your Valentine
January 31, 2019Looking for a fun and crafty afternoon project? Maybe something for Valentine’s Day? We’ve got you covered with several slime recipes for you to do by yourself or with the kids. You can even pour your slime into small canning jars and give them as gifts. You’ll find the list of ingredients and directions for your slime time below the how-to video.
Clear Slime
Ingredients:
- 7-9 ounces clear glue (Elmer’s)
- 2-4 teaspoons baking soda
- 4-6 teaspoons saline solution
- Red food coloring
- Glitter and charms
Directions:
Mix the glue and baking soda in a bowl.
Now mix in your food coloring, glitter, and small charms as needed.
Add saline solution 1 teaspoon at a time until preferred consistency is attained.
Then add additional baking soda and/or saline solution to achieve perfect stickiness.
Be careful not to add too much or the slime will become stiff and unmanageable.
Basic Slime
Ingredients:
- 7-9 ounces white glue (Elmer’s)
- 4-6 teaspoons liquid starch (Sta-Flo)
- Red food coloring
- Glitter and charms
Directions:
Mix glue, glitter and food coloring in a bowl. Add liquid starch 1 teaspoon at a time until you reach the perfect consistency. If your slime is too sticky, slowly add more liquid starch.
Fluffy Slime
Ingredients:
- 7-9 ounces white glue (Elmer’s)
- 1 cup regular shaving cream
- 4-6 teaspoons liquid starch (Sta-Flo)
- Red food coloring
- Glitter and charms
Directions:
Mix glue and shaving cream in a bowl, then add in food coloring, charms and glitter.
Add liquid starch 1 teaspoon at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
If your slime is too sticky, add more liquid starch.
